Eyebrow Threading in Docklands: Sharper Brows Without the Wax

Threading shapes your eyebrows using a single twisted cotton thread that lifts hair out row by row. It is precise, it is quick, and because it only touches the hair and not the skin, it suits sensitive skin better than waxing. If you are after eyebrow shaping in Docklands, threading is our signature and the treatment our regulars come back for.

You will find us inside Spencer Outlet Centre at Shop T110/201 Spencer Street. Brow shaping is currently $25 as an opening special (normally $32).

Why threading beats waxing for brows

Wax grips the top layer of skin as well as the hair, and around the delicate brow area that can mean redness, lifting or the occasional burn. Threading removes the hair on its own, so most people leave with nothing more than a slight flush that settles within the hour. It is also far more controlled. Your therapist can take out a single stray hair without disturbing the rest, which is exactly what you want when you are growing out a shape or refining the tail.

Shaping to suit your face, not a trend

A good brow is mapped to your features rather than copied from a photo. We look at your natural brow, your face shape and how much definition you actually want, then map the start, arch and tail before any hair is removed. The aim is a brow that looks like yours on a good day, not a stencil.

Ways to take your brows further

Threading is the foundation, and you can build on it:

  • Brow tint ($21) adds depth and shape for a couple of weeks, handy if your brows are fair or patchy.
  • Henna brows ($45, or $65 with a thread) stain the skin underneath as well as the hair, so they read fuller and last longer than tint.
  • Brow lamination ($65, or $85 with a thread) sets the hairs in a brushed-up shape for weeks, great for unruly or flat-lying brows.

If you are not sure which suits you, tell your therapist the look you are after and they will point you to the right one.

Aftercare and how long threading lasts

Most people get two to four weeks from a thread before regrowth needs tidying. Come in regularly and the regrowth tends to get finer and slower over time. Straight after, avoid touching the area with unwashed hands and skip heavy makeup over the brow for the rest of the day. If you are prone to redness, a little aloe or a cool compress settles it quickly.

Does eyebrow threading hurt?

It feels like a quick, scratchy tickle rather than a sharp sting, and it is over in minutes. Most first timers are surprised by how mild it is compared with waxing or tweezing.

How often should I get my brows threaded?

Every two to four weeks keeps a clean shape. If you are growing your brows into a new shape, your therapist will tidy only the strays and leave the rest to fill in.
